AN INTRODUCTION

MDA Contracting Inc. is truly a unique phenomenon amid  New York's rough-and-tumble world of general contractors.

Before 1983, the partners and senior staff of MDA Contracting Inc. formed the in-house construction company at Rockefeller Center, and in fact, Rockefeller Center provided assistance for the establishment of MDA Contracting Inc.. The key project staff still forms the core of MDA Contracting's organization now and the founding principal still owns and manages the firm today.

MDA Contracting Inc., a mid-sized General Contractor /Construction Manager has completed over twenty-one years of successful projects throughout the tri-state area. Our client list represents all segments of the industry including, but not limited to commercial, residential and institutional. The firm puts in place tens of millions of dollars of construction annually. Typically, we are engaged in ten to fifteen significant projects at a given time.

MDA Contracting Inc. has three principals -- Julian Alessi, Kenneth Saas and Bill Freeswick. Key to the success of MDA Contracting Inc. is its principals' hands-on approach and control of each department within the organization. Each principal has total responsibility for one of the following areas:

(a) Project Development & Management -- which includes estimating, purchasing and overseeing functions which enables the project to be built in a cost effective and quality-controlled manner and delivered on time. Julian Alessi is the principal-in-charge of Estimating & Purchasing areas. The fact that Julian will personally purchase the trades for the project will ensure that the subcontractors' bids will be highly competitive and they will have a high level of motivation to perform effectively on the project.

(b) Administration/Operations -- which tailors the financial, personnel and insurance resources to projects and maintains a smooth-flowing process conducive to an early project completion. Bill Freeswick is the principal-in-charge who oversees these functions. He sees that all projects are insured for Ten Million Dollars. 

(c) Sales/Marketing and Customer Satisfaction -- which includes networking and maintaining a harmonious relationship throughout the industry with landlords, tenants, real estate brokers, architects, engineers and consultants.  Ken Saas, the principal-in-charge of this department, constantly monitors our relationships in the industry and insures that our customers are satisfied during the construction process.

The medium-sized position of MDA Contracting Inc. within the construction industry is beneficial to clients. On one hand, MDA Contracting Inc. has a staff with the training, sophistication, and computerization to manage effectively projects of several hundred thousand square feet. On the other hand, the unbureaucratic structure of the firm and its focus on a limited number of projects which can be properly supervised allows for the intensive involvement and overseeing of the managing principals along with their total accessibility to clients.
